Adolf Hitler
Born in Austria 1889, failed artist, political activist, founded the German Nazi Party (National Socialism), and became chancellor of the Third Reich over the period 1933 - 1945.
From 1934 he ruled as absolute dictator and he remilitarised Germany. In 1939 his armies invaded Poland causing Great Britain and France to declare war. This became the second world war. This then led onto further invasions of Denmark, Norway, the Benelux countries, France, North Africa, Russia, etc.
He indirectly caused the death of millions people including the death of Jews and Gypsies in concentration camps and starving of Russian cities.
In 1945 he died in a Berlin bunker by cyanide in a suicide pact with his newly married wife Eva Braun while Russian forces overran the city.
