Bram Stoker, 1847-1912 Novelist. [Abraham] Stoker was born and educated in Dublin, entering Trinity College in 1866. He became a civil servant, as well as drama critic of "The Dublin Mail" and editor of "The Penny Press", before settling in London and working as personal manager to Sir Henry Irving. His first publication, "The Duties of Clerks of Petty Sessions in Ireland" (1879), was followed by 15 works of fiction; "Dracula" (1897) is the most famous. Stoker also wrote the two-volume "Personal Reminiscences of Henry Irving" (1906)
